This is from a series studying facial disfigurement, looking closely at the fragility of flesh and the delicate changing field we are confronted by daily. Our culture is very compliant and receptive to a rendered, artificial image of the face and body in the media and advertising but less inclined to embrace images that reflect anything contrary to the vision and idea of perfection. This series has the aim of confronting the audience with a more honest portrayal of the flesh.
